When you have a writer for a wife you would think that she would write your bio. No dice.  Don’t expect a Pulitzer Prize here and since I’m more of a sarcastic realist, I won’t always give you the same daisies and roses spin put on the rest of the family. Hopefully it’s entertaining though.

Photography:  Last year photography was just a hobby, this year it turned into a passion. When I was thinking about what happened to me this year, nearly all of it revolved around photography in some way. I have been carrying my camera everywhere. Since I'm always behind the camera, I had issues tying to find 4 pictures to put at the top of this page.  Lucky for you, I'm a narcissist and occasionally take my own picture. :)  It's been a growing year and I have had photographic opportunities this year that I never thought I’d have.  It’s been fun ... and hard work.  I’ve never felt like much of an artist before, but I’ve been finding myself looking at everything in terms of how I would frame it and what light source is available. I’ve never been that kind of guy.  It’s weird.

Here some of my photography highlights from this year (with links to Flickr):

Futbol: While still my greatest inner passion; this took a little bit of a back seat this year. While I still played a couple of times a week for most of the year, I hit a period where the game wasn’t fun.  Due mostly to my personal play (crappy) I ended up taking almost a 6 week break where I didn’t play watch or even follow about soccer. This was probably the longest non-injury break I’ve taken since I was 10.  I’ve recently started playing again and the love for The Beautiful Game has slowly returned. I am really looking forward to immersing myself in all 64 games of the World Cup (South Africa) next year.

Drumming: Enjoying each time behind the kit for my church Worship Team. The band I was a part of took a break this year, hopefully we’ll pick it up again next year. One of the most enjoyable drumming times this year was when I had the honor of playing at the Mile High Ministries annual Christmas Store which helps inner city poor families buy Christmas gifts.

      Miscellany:

-          Went on a wonderful fishing trip in June and caught the largest fish of my life.

-          Nearly drowned on a rafting trip in June. Not sure I want to do that again.

-          Took part in a neighborhood Extreme Community Makeover.

-          Enjoyed another 4-day guys hiking/fishing trip (with Tommy) in August.

-          Love Craigslist, blogs and IM, but don’t care for Facebook or Twitter.
