My year had a great start in January as I packed up my backpack once again to return to school and begin the second semester of the eighth grade. During that time I endured tough classes like gym and science, thrived more in my favorite electives such as Spanish and Drama, and had fun times with my friends new and old. I also enjoyed my first lead in the beginning of May in CYT’s The Jungle Book as Mowgli’s love interest Young Anjali act one. All in all a wonderful winter in my 2009 experience.
In the summer, I started out getting ready to go to Canada with the youth group at my church. I had a lot of fun there and established great relationships. It wasn’t long before I got home that I said goodbye to the whole family and set out back east with my grandmother. There we spent a lot of time at her really pretty house in Pennsylvania and took many trips to NYC where we saw the Broadway production of West Side Story and walked the busy streets of Time Square!
In early August, summer break had ended. I didn’t mind because that meant it was time for me to start as a freshman in Mountain Vista High! It’s been a busy first semester! I made lots of new friends in my classes and in extra circulars such as the freshman sophomore play A Cold Day in Hell where in a small cast of eight (not including the two director my brother Tommy and his friend Tim) I had grown some of the closest relationships I could ever hope for! I’m not leaving out the fact that I attended my first homecoming dance which was a ball (lol).
That’s pretty much been my year! I can honesty say that it’s been one of the best I’ve ever had. 2010, you’ve got some BIG shoes to fill. Bring it on!
