This year has been one of fun opportunities and big family changes. We now have one in college and three in high school (HOW did we ever get here?). It is hardest on Jamie to really start letting go – Troy’s too excited to get the kids on college meal plans. According to his calculations he and Jamie will be able to take that tour of Europe on what they save on meat and milk alone!
For Spring Break we loaded up the van and drove up to Chicago to introduce the family to Jamie’s home town. The kids really enjoyed the Windy City (and now have a real appreciation of WIND!), but that paled in comparison to spending time with their now beloved Uncle Tom who not only shares their sense of humor but great love of quality film.
Another highlight was finally getting the whole family to Wicked. It’s such a blessing that we all love the theater…even though Tommy and Jenny were unimpressed as they had already seen it in London and Chicago respectively. Apparently Denver just could not compare!
Troy and Jamie are getting ready to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Hard to believe we have known each other half of our lives – yet difficult to remember a time when we weren’t together.
This year you are in for a treat: the kids actually wrote their own letters! Mom and Dad refrained from editing, so you get the unvarnished versions of their years. Hope you enjoy and may you have a very merry Christmas and a greatly blessed New Year!
All our love,
The Durbin Family
